Respect our board - it’s members and it’s contents We have zero tolerance for flaming, and there’s one administrator here in particular (not naming my own name or anything…) who admittedly has a particularly sharp and often tactless tongue when it comes to responding to such things. Best not to find that one out personally… If you have a problem with Post-Pulse or any members/messages here at Post pulse, please bring your problem to the staff of Post Pulse. We’ll be happy to help you sort through your issues. If you don't like a fic, don't read it. Simple. Don't flame the fic. Constructive criticism is one thing, flaming is another matter entirely. If you read a fic and disapprove of it's character bashing/sexual or violent content etc... check to see if it has a warning for character bashing/ or the appropriate R or NC17 rating. If it does, you've got nothing to complain about. You should have just read these details first - tough luck. If it doesn't carry the appropriate warnings, politely send a private message to the author, or a Post Pulse staff member. Pay in mind that what an author says in their own fic review thread, is up to their own discretion. DO NOT COPY OTHER PEOPLE'S MESSAGES HERE AT POST-PULSE AND DISTRIBUTE THEM OUTSIDE OF POST_PULSE - UNLESS YOU HAVE PERMISSION OF THE PERSON WHO HAS WRITTEN THE POST This is regarded as a serious offence, and if you commit this offense, your ISP WILL be banned from here, and from any other board I admin, where you may happen to be a member (trust me, there's a few of them). 2. Posting Fan Fiction - Please PM an administrator first. We do not wish to exclude members who’d like to post their fan fiction here, be it Dark Angel or another fandom - but we do ask that people wishing to post their fan fiction here first PM a staff member of Post-Pulse as we have certain procedures regarding the uploading of fan fiction. We would also prefer that writers have proof-read or if possible, have their stories beta’d before opening fic threads here at PP. Please Note: Please PROOF READ your writing before submitting it to an admin, and before uploading fics here. Please! Understandably spelling and grammar mistakes slip through (oh I know that feeling) but stories that are bullet ridden with bad spelling, out of sync plotlines and whatnot, simply indicate careless effort. If you are interested in posting original fiction there's a forum here for original writing, or you could check out one of PP's relatives, The Captured Muse or for an online magazine style board Crawlspace and email/PM us. 3. Spam No, not the dodgy looking meat in a can, but “the bombarding of a message board with pointless posts that have no relevance to the thread's topic, simply for the sake of racking up points." Please don’t. Of course everyone goes off topic from time to time - heck, I do. But spamming and going a bit off topic are two different things… Excessive spam may result in the deletion of posts. 4. Interact with us! Okay, it’s not compulsory that you post messages at this board, but interaction is what keeps our board alive! Lurking is all well and good but when no one is posting, there’s nothing new to read and then even the lurkers disappear… If you’re shy about jumping into a thread, come and introduce yourself in the introductions thread! I can promise you that it’s the best place to start getting to know people. We have friendly members who are all too happy to make newcomers feel welcome. 5. Ensure your messages are readable! Please don't post your messages in colours that can't be read clearly. And most of all, please don't abbreviate every second word to the point where it's ridiculously difficult to work out what you're saying. We really h8 tht. 6. Fan Fiction: Read and Review! (Once again - not compulsory. Of course if we could devise a way to regulate such things we would…) A large part of this board is dedicated to Dark Angel fan fiction. Of course, we write for ourselves and not for reviews blah blah blah… But by putting our stories online to share with the world, it indicates that while we are writing for ourselves, we’re posting our stories to share with others. Therefore, surely it is only fair that if you take the time to read a fic, you could also take a few minutes more to share your feedback in the review thread? The writers who have put their hearts into their stories will certainly appreciate it. Questions?
